Eligibility Criteria – SSC ASO Recruitment 2026
The SSC ASO exam is not open for the general public. This is only for the serving government officials of the specific cadres are eligible.
For CSS (DoPT) Candidates
- Must be serving as an Upper Division Clerk (or) Senior Secretariat Asst. in the Central Secretariat Clerical Service under DoPT.
- Must have completed minimum 6 years of approved service in that grade as on 01 July 2025.
- Must not have resigned, been terminated, or moved to an ex-cadre post without lien
For MEA (Cadre Cell) Candidates
- Must be serving as Upper Division Clerk in the MEA Service
- Must have completed minimum 6 years of approved service as on 01 July 2025
- Must have successfully completed the prescribed mandatory training programmes required by MEA
