Eligibility Criteria – IBPS SO Recruitment 2026
Education Qualification
Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification for the respective Specialist Officer post from a recognised University/Institution as on the eligibility date.
- IT Officer – 4 Year Engineering / technology / degree in CSE, IT, ECE. Post Graduate degree in CSE, ECE, IT.
- Agricultural Field Officer – 4 Year degree in Agriculture / horticulture / Animal Husbandry / Veterinary Science / Fishery Science etc.,
- Rajbhasha Adhikari – Post graduate in Hindi with English as a subject degree (Graduation) Level.
- Law Officer – Bachelor degree in LAW.

Selection Process
The selection process includes the following stages:
- Preliminary Examination is qualifying only. Final merit is prepared based on marks obtained in the Main Examination and Interview in the ratio of 80:20

Major Change in IBPS SO 2026: IBPS has introduced a revised exam pattern this year. Professional Knowledge is now included in the Preliminary Exam for all posts. Salary Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed as Specialist Officers (Scale I) in participating Public Sector Banks. The initial basic pay is ₹48,480 along with applicable DA, HRA, Special Allowance and other admissible benefits.
