Important Warning – Choose Your RRB Carefully 🚨

This is one of the most important points in CEN 04/2026.

Candidates can apply to only one RRB. The selected RRB cannot later be changed. Candidates can give preferences for Railway Zones and posts within that chosen RRB. Submitting applications to more than one RRB can result in rejection of all applications and debarment from the recruitment process.

My suggestion: Before pressing the final submit button, check:

  • RRB selected
  • Post preference
  • Educational qualification
  • Medical standard
  • Category
  • Age
  • Railway/Zone preference
  • Uploaded photograph/signature
  • Mobile number and email

Medical Fitness – Do Not Ignore This

Railway recruitment has specific medical standards such as A-3, B-1 and C-1, depending on the post. Visual standards and other medical requirements can therefore become important at the final stage.

A candidate found medically unsuitable for the opted post may not receive an alternative appointment. This is a point many candidates may overlook while preparing only for the written examination.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official RRB website.
  2. Read CEN 04/2026 completely.
  3. Create an RRB account if required.
  4. Use your active personal mobile number and email ID.
  5. Complete identity authentication where applicable.
  6. Select only one RRB.
  7. Select eligible posts and preferences.
  8. Enter educational and personal details carefully.
  9. Upload the required live photograph/signature and documents.
  10. Pay the applicable examination fee.
  11. Submit the application.
  12. Save/print the completed application for future reference.

The notification says that mobile number and email ID entered during account creation cannot be changed later.

Application Modification

A modification window is available from 16 September to 25 September 2026 with a β‚Ή250 non-refundable modification fee per occasion.

However, the Create an Account details and chosen RRB cannot be changed.

Competition Level – Our View

FactorOur View
Vacancies🟒 Good – 3,993
Government Job🟒 Excellent
Pay Level🟒 Good – Level 6
Technical Qualification🟑 Post-specific
CompetitionπŸ”΄ High
CBT Difficulty🟑 Moderate to High
Technical PreparationπŸ”΄ Very Important
Medical Requirement🟑 Must check
Overall Opportunity🟒 Strong opportunity

The vacancy number is attractive, but RRB JE is generally a competitive recruitment. Do not assume that 3,993 vacancies means selection will be easy. Your RRB choice, technical group, category, CBT performance and medical fitness all matter.

Our Verdict

RRB JE/DMS Recruitment 2026 is a strong opportunity for eligible Diploma and engineering candidates who want a career in Indian Railways.

The biggest positives are 3,993 vacancies, Level-6 pay, β‚Ή35,400 initial pay and a clear CBT-based selection process. However, candidates should not apply casually. The one-RRB rule, post-specific qualification, medical standards and technical CBT-II syllabus deserve special attention.

My advice: If you meet the qualification and age conditions, first verify the exact post parameters in Annexure-A and vacancy details in Annexure-B. Then select your RRB and preferences carefully and start CBT-II technical preparation early.
