Selection Process

The selection process includes the following stages:

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Test)

2. Main Examination (Objective & Descriptive)

Confirmed revised Mains 2026 pattern:

• Reasoning: 40 Q → 60 marks → 45 mins (reduced from 50 mins)
• General/Economy/Banking/Digital/Financial Awareness: 50 Q → 60 marks → 35 mins (increased from 35Q/50marks/25mins)
• English Language: 40 Q → 20 marks → 35 mins (increased from 35Q but marks REDUCED from 40)
• Data Analysis & Interpretation: 40 Q → 60 marks → 45 mins (increased from 35Q/50marks)
• Total Objective: 170 Q → 200 marks → 160 mins
• Descriptive Paper: Essay + Comprehension (30 mins)

3. Personality Test — Mandatory before interview. Non-qualifying (no marks awarded). May be conducted in proctored mode or at exam centres as decided by IBPS.

4. Common Interview

Interview carries 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for General/EWS candidates and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates. The Personality Test is mandatory before the interview but non-qualifying (no marks)
